THE EDEN PARK SCHOOL
"Les Papillons du Ciel"
Created in 2011 under the leadership of our founder Franck Mesnel, Les Papillons du Ciel has been a charity since 2015. Built in 2014 by the association volunteers, the “Collège du Rocher”, located on the Nattes Island in Madagascar (south of Sainte-Marie Island), is the only middle/high school on the island and allows children to continue their education close to home. With 5 buildings, a library, a cafeteria and 8 teachers, the school welcomes 97 students from 9 to 17 years old every year.
I DONATEOUR SUSTAINABLE COMMITMENTS
To play his part in sustainability, Franck Mesnel decided to recycle samples and scraps of Eden Park shirts to have them transformed by the school parents who are skilled seamstresses:
- Scrunchies
- (Sun)Glasses Pouches
- Signature Bow Tie Brooches
A brooch sold for $3 online or in-store helps funding meals for the school children ($1 for lunches, $1 for the seamstresses, $1 for logistics and equipment).
A DIVERSIFIED PROGRAM
With quality academics, rugby and extracurricular activities, our charity helps these school students to learn in good conditions:
- A vegetable garden was planted and is maintained by the children
- A cafeteria that offers 3 meals per week
- The Cetamada program: discovery and prospecting of local humpback whales
